Flying Private to Miami: Which Airport Should You Land At?

Opa-locka, Miami Executive, Fort Lauderdale Executive, Palm Beach — the airport you choose changes your whole arrival.

Flying Private to Miami: Which Airport Should You Land At?

South Florida has more than one airport for private aviation, and the best one is not always the closest to your hotel. Choosing well saves time on the ground, which is the part of a private flight people most often underestimate.

The main options

  • Miami-Opa locka Executive (OPF) — a general aviation airport in northwest Miami-Dade, a common choice for the city and the beaches.
  • Miami Executive (TMB) — in the south-west of the county, often more convenient for the south of Miami and Coral Gables.
  • Fort Lauderdale Executive (FXE) — a better fit when your plans are in Broward County or the northern beaches.
  • Palm Beach International (PBI) — for Palm Beach and the north.
  • Private terminals at MIA and FLL — available at the main commercial airports, useful when you connect to other flights.

How to choose

Start from where you will actually be, not from the name of the city. A short drive from the right airport beats a short flight to the wrong one. Think about luggage, the size of the group, whether you are connecting, and what time you land — late evening arrivals change the picture, because traffic matters less and some operations close.

The ground leg

The transfer is part of the trip. A chauffeur waiting at the aircraft, with the car sized for the group and the bags, is what makes a private arrival feel private. Tell us the flight and we time the car to the landing.

On request

Private jets are arranged on request. There is no standard price: every flight is quoted in writing for the route, the dates and the group, through licensed operators.
